Common Questions
What counts as an "upload"?
Each new file you upload and analyse counts as one upload — whether it's a document, image, or audio file. Re-analysing the same file in a different language does not count as an additional upload.
Can I analyse voice memos and audio recordings?
Yes — audio analysis is included on all plans. Upload a supported spoken-audio file and PaperLens will create a transcript, summary, and useful details to review. Accuracy depends on recording quality. It counts as one monthly upload.
What happens to Free-tier documents after upload?
Free-tier documents are automatically deleted from our servers exactly 7 days after upload. No copies are retained after this window. Upgrade to Pro for permanent Vault storage.
What happens to my documents if I cancel Pro?
Your documents are retained for 60 days after your subscription lapses. If you renew within that window your Vault is fully restored. After 60 days documents are permanently deleted.
What happens when I hit my monthly limit?
Uploads and chat are paused until your quota resets at the start of your next billing cycle. No surprise charges — you'll see a clear message in the app. Pro Yearly users get higher base quotas (75 uploads, 300 chat msgs) so limits are hit less often.
What are the AI chat limits?
Free: 15 messages/month. Pro Monthly: 200 messages/month. Pro Yearly: 300 messages/month (+50% bonus). All limits reset each billing cycle.
